This was my second stay at Rifugio and it is one of the best Airbnbs I have ever stayed in. With 100+ stays under my belt, that is high praise! It really deserves 10 stars. Rifugio is even bigger than it looks in the photos, was pristine and had just about everything you need or want including an espresso machine with ground coffee at the ready - definitely one of the highlghts for me. All of the amenities are good quality and the space is very cozy and quiet. The bed was very comfortable and the WiFi worked great - no issues with service or Zoom calls.
The location is great with provisions less than a 5-minute drive away and a great trail just out the door. Matteo & Mel are fantastic hosts - they always responded almost immediately and were kind enough to give me advanced notice about high winds that were expected so I could be prepared if we lost power. This is my new go-to place. I will definitely be back and you shouldn't think twice about booking it!

Matteo & Mel were exceptional hosts — generous, helpful, and genuinely committed to making us feel at home. The space was warm, cozy, and absolutely spotless, with everything thoughtfully arranged and remarkably efficient; every item had its proper place without a hint of clutter. And the sauna room — wow! Such a delightful way to warm up on cold CO days. The home is beautifully maintained and decorated with lovely, tasteful touches throughout, and we especially appreciated the wholesome snacks and the variety of teas and coffee that welcomed us. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning to this wonderful home in the future.

Matteo & Mel’s place is fantastic—my favorite Airbnb space I’ve ever stayed in! They’ve truly thought of everything from design, comfort and amenities. I would have actually packed a little lighter if I’d known all the comforts they provide (I.e. heating pad on bed, great tea selection, nice toilet trees☺️) The house itself is very cool and notable with rammed earth and features for sustainability and low impact. Lastly, Matteo and Mel were incredibly accommodating, kind, and communicative! I highly recommend staying here!

The apartment is located in Superior, 10 minutes to Downtown Boulder, 20 minutes to Denver and 1 hour to the Rocky Mountain National Park. Walking distance from the McCaslin-US-36 RTD bus stop, where you can take a bus to/from the Denver International Airport (~40 min), Denver Union Station (~30 min) or Downtown Boulder (~20 min).
